Clean & Simple … and… Quick & Easy.

This card was made for this week’s Just Add Ink Challenge 665 – Clean & Simple. The idea is to make a card that has, “Minimal accents and layers, clean colour pallets, nothing overly fussy…Basically the less is more concept!” Of course, that means this card is also quick and easy!

To be honest, I haven’t had any card making mojo this week. I’ve been down with a nasty gastro bug that is doing the rounds where I live. This is day 4 and the first day I could sit up properly. So I haven’t had any energy to make anything. But the challenge finishes tomorrow and I couldn’t let this one go past!

I got out my brand new “Beary Cute” stamp set with the matching Polar Bear Punch that I’ve been dying to play with. This set will be available from 6 September 2023 and is featured in the new Sept-Dec 2023 Mini Catalog. So, I can’t show you photos of the stamp set or punch yet, but I CAN show you what I made from it.

This card took about 5 minutes to make. Seriously. It’s that easy!

You can make this with any size card you want (but if you want to know my measurements, I’ve put them near the end of this post). It’s simply a white card base (I used the Basic White A4 Thick Cardstock from Stampin’ Up!), a Balmy Blue A4 Cardstock mat and a white card front. I simply used my Stampin’ Up! Blending Brush inked up with Balmy Blue Ink and swept in a circular motion to create a roundish blue ‘spot’ on the card front. I stamped the “Merry Christmas” sentiment using both VersaMark and Balmy Blue Ink then dusted Holographic Embossing Powder* over it and heat set it.

On a scrap of white cardstock, I stamped the bear using both VersaMark and Balmy Blue and again used Holographic Embossing Powder which was heat set. It adds a tiny bit of sparkle to the blue image.

Finally, I layered my cardbase, mat, and card front and affixed with Stampin’ Seal and put my polar bear on the front with Dimensionals to raise it a bit from the background.

Now, the brief for the challenge is Clean and Simple so I’m leaving the card there. But, if I wanted to step it up a bit I would use some gorgeous embellishments from the new Mini Catalogue. You’ll just have to wait until 6 September to see them!

This is such a great example of a clean, simple and quick card! Your bear is lovely and I love how you kept the colours soft an monochromatic. Thanks for sharing with us at Just Add Ink this week.
