Stampin’ Up! makes the most amazing punches but their builder punches are extra special – allowing you to make layered pieces that are great feature embellishments on your finished cards and scrapbooks. In the short video below, I’m going to demonstrate how to take your punched flowers to the next level with texture and shading.
I’m using the Stampin’ Up! Petal Park Builder Punch, but you can use the texture and shading technique on any paper flowers you are creating. Watch the video for how to do it… and get a sneak peek at the new 2024-2025 In Colors being released to the public on 1 May 2024!
Instructions
Materials:
- Scrap pieces of cardstock
- Petal Park Builder Punch (or punch or die of your choosing)
- Ink pad to match the cardstock colours
- Mini Blending Brushes
- Piercing Pad
- Liquid Glue
- Adhesive Gem
- Take Your Pick tool
- Ball stylus tools
Method:
- Use the mini blending brush to lightly brush ink from the ink pad on the edges of your flower pieces and leaves (use the ink that matches the cardstock).
- On the back of each flower petal, use a small ball stylus and press all around the edge of each petal. Turn petal over and using a larger ball stylus, press in the middle to curl the petals up.
- Using liquid glue, layer the petals on top of each other.
- Using the Take Your Pick tool, place an ahesive gem in the middle of the flower.
- Using a small ball stylus, draw it in a line from 3/4 of the way up the leaf to the point at the bottom.
- Assemble the flower and leaves by gluing them in place on your card or scrapbook page in whatever arrangement you want.
How easy is that! Show us the flowers you’ve made at the Drunk Dog Makers Gallery on Facebook! Happy crafting!
