I’m glad you asked!

Stampin’ Up! are upping their game with scrapbooking supplies and they’ve created a whole bunch of amazing kits to make it easy for us to explore a new way to papercraft! Stampin’ Up! is well known for high quality, good value, cardmaking supplies. A company called Close to My Heart was well known for their scrapbooking supplies but the owners of CTMY were experiencing ill health and had to close the business. In May 2024, CTMY merged into Stampin’ Up! and opened a whole new world to SU’s independent demonstrators and customers.

I tried scrapbooking once…way back in 2009. At the time I was a widow with teenage daughters and a full time job. So my attempts at Scrapbooking were short lived – partly due to lack of time and partly due to not having anyone around who could help me learn and no craft stores in the little town in Indiana I was living in.

Fast forward to today… I am now back living in Australia in a beautiful regional city, my daughters are now grown, married, and no longer living with me, and while I still work part-time, life is no longer as intense and time consuming as it was 16 years ago! Amen! I have a box full of prize certificates and photos of the prize winning creations from my foray into the world of Agricultural Shows here in Victoria, Australia. I really wanted to scrapbook them but still didn’t know how to start. I made an attempt using some SU papers, stamps and dies I already had on hand, but wasn’t overly happy with it.

I needed help, so… I had a look at the Stampin’ Up! Scrapbooking Workshop Kits and ordered one to try it out. When it arrived, I got so excited that I couldn’t wait to share it with you all. So I did the video below to explain what a kit is and what types of things are included.

Basically, the Scrapbooking Workshop Kit has everything you need for 3 projects. Each project is a 2-page spread. The kits include 12×12 Cardstock, 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper, Stickers and/or Cut Outs, and sometimes embellishments. The kit on it’s own is a complete kit. You will just need some basic tools which I’m sure you already have to go with it. The kit also has comprehensive instructions – including how to cut up the DSP – and some photo placement cards so you can arrange your layout without getting finger prints all over your photos!

These kits are great if you’re a beginner like me as the instructions are easy and clear, but, if you are an experienced scrapbooker, then you can go freestyle and use the elements and papers however you want! Whichever way you do it… and here is the real genius of the kits…. everything coordinates. That’s a prime philosophy of Stampin’ Up! – coordination of colours and designs across all elements in their product lineup. The kits are no different. Everything goes so well together!

Some kits also have additional stamp or stamp and die sets that coordinate with the kit, and some coordinate with bundles and suites from the cardmaking range. So you can extend your creativity as far as you want!
